I Was Prepared
A downloadable game
GAMEPLAY
Zombies, Skeletons, Goblins, and other foul creatures are here to destroy your home village, but you were already counting on it. Construct Ballistic, Sonic and Death Ray turrets to actively take down your enemies. Wield your trusty Sword and confront their lines head-on. Surround the field with Damage and Speed turrets to increase your damage output.
Your strategy and how you upgrade your weaponry will depend on the type of loot dropped by the fallen. Imbued your sword and turrets with the power of elemental gems (Fire, Ice, Plasma) to double your damage against the weakest typing. Passive turrets can also be enhanced with elemental gems to temporarily change your sword’s typing in the heat of battle inside their influence area.
Protect your village. Take them all out.
TURRETS
- Ballistic = Active turret. Attacks one enemy at a time with fast, low damage projectiles.
- Sonic = Active turret. Generates AoE damage in a cone. Medium damage.
- Death Ray = Active turret. Creates a deadly beam that wipes out enemies in a straight line. High damage.
- Damage = Passive turret. Increases Hero/Turrets damage.
- Speed = Passive turret. Increases Hero/Turrets attack speed.
GEMS
- Fire = Strong against Ice. Weak against Plasma. On Active turrets: Stacks, dealing damage over time.
- Ice = Strong against Plasma. Weak against Fire. On Active turrets: Slows enemies down.
- Plasma = Strong against Fire. Weak against Ice. On Active turrets: Heals the Hero when dealing damage.

Engaging Tower Defence
Very nice concept of a tower defence (TD) type game. Having to control the player and actually fight alongside your turrets creates an engaging dynamic where you have to be careful with your turret placement and your own life. This avoids the player being passive, specially during the early stages of a level, which many TD games fail.
The Gems/Elements gives more depth to just only killing enemies and making you think ahead to be prepared for the next round. A bit of an issue imo, is when several gems are active at the same time, making it a bit difficult to prepare and feels like RNG if you prepared correctly or not, however, I understand that might be the intention.
As feedback for the game, my main issue is the: UI. As a TD game, management is a key element the player has to tackle, therefore, the resources should be visible constantly without the need to enter an upgrade menu. Without this visible I found myself running around to each type of turret to see if I had enough resources to upgrade it. Also with the UI, at first I didn't notice I was receiving damage, I think that should be shown somehow either by a visual element or a more distinctive sound.
I also need a date ASAP for the Katana DLC. Btw I feel I've seen that katana somewhere before
